A good photo of each, the details and a few lines. Everything saves as you go, and help appears right where you need it.

Submit, then share if you like
Press Submit and you're entered. Sharing afterwards with #OccidentalPrize is optional, and it gives your entry a boost: we feature shared entries on our Instagram accounts.
Deadline Wed, Mar 31, 2027, 11:59 pm Pacific
Early is easier: time for good photos and studio steps, and time to ask us anything.
After the deadline: judging and the show
Round one: craft, blind. The Selection Panel, volunteers from The Seattle Prize Fellowship, sees only the work: no name, no statement.
Round two: the shortlist. The strongest entries are seen again with their statements and studio steps.
Invited in front of the judges. The panel chooses, with Andrew Conru's help, the 50 to 100 works for the exhibition, and every artist hears from us by email. Each selected artist receives an honorarium of $100 to $250, depending on the size of the work, to help with shipping.
In front of the originals. Three independent judges pick the winners standing in front of the real works, with Andrew chairing, and the winners are announced on opening night.
We will make a book from the entries, like the Seattle Prize Year One books. The book and the catalog are printed from the full-resolution files.
